The county board of supervisors will begin 2020 with very little change from the past several years. At the organizational meeting Jan. 2 John Muir was re-elected board chair and Dawn Rudolph was elected chair pro tem, positions they’ve both held for several years.
The board will continue its daytime meetings, with regular meetings year-round Mondays at 8:30 am, and on Thursdays at 8:30 am during the budgeting process, generally January through mid- or late-March.
The supervisors approved 10 paid holidays for county employees: Presidents Day, Feb. 27; Memorial Day, May 25; Independence Day, Friday, July 3; Labor Day, Sept. 7; Veterans Day, Nov. 11; Thanksgiving, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26-27; Christmas, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24-25; and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.
Two committee assignments were added in the past year. Dawn Rudolph will serve as an ex officio member of Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, and Pete Bardole will serve as a public art liaison.
Other committee assignments are unchanged except for supervisor Mick Burkett’s assignments. He will no longer serve on the investment, insurance and finance committee, but will instead serve on the E911 service board.
